I have been a Certified Nurse-Midwife for 20 years and a Registered Nurse for a total of 34 years now.  You know the saying - time flies when you’re having fun!  Seems like just yesterday…  Well, I grew up here in Poland, Ohio.  I went to Youngstown State University for my undergraduate work, received my Associate Degree in Nursing in 1982.  I had my beautiful children: Jimmy, Tiffany, Joshua, Katie, and Bailee.  I worked approximately 14 years in various Labor and Delivery departments in our local area and assisted the Rescue Mission of Youngstown in running New Life Pregnancy Services - a maternity home for unwed mothers in Vienna, Ohio for several years.  It was there at the maternity home that God birthed in me the desire to be a midwife.  It bothered me greatly how women were treated in labor/delivery, I knew it could be so different.  Many things just didn’t make sense like: why you can’t eat in labor, why you have to stay in a bed, why you have to wear a gown, why your friends and family can’t be there, why you need an episiotomy, why you can’t decide what position is comfortable for you to birth in, etc…  I wanted to make a difference for women.

I went to Case Western Reserve University for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing and completed the Midwifery Program there as well.  I graduated from CWRU in 1996.  I worked my first year at Parkside Women’s Center in Boardman with two special midwives Gaye and Kathy.  They were my mentors and I’m grateful for all they invested in me.  Then I started my own practice here – Midwifery Care, Inc. in 1997 and I love everyday going to work.  How many people can say they love to go to work?  God has a special ministry for women and their families here at Midwifery Care, Inc.  I pray to be a vessel He can flow through to make health care for women personal and satisfying– allowing Jesus to heal, bless, teach, guide, and deliver special blessings!  We welcome you with open arms and open hearts.
